Driving Into 2025: Industry insights from Mike Nichol, general manager, Simplicity Car Care Airdrie

Calgary, Alberta — In this second installment of looking toward the new year and reaching out to members of the collision repair industry to learn how they plan to drive into 2025, Collision Repair magazine sat down with Mike Nichol, general manager of Simplicity Car Care Airdrie to hear how Western shops are continuing to look ahead.

When asked what the biggest highlight of 2024 was for Simplicity Car Care Airdrie, Nichol commented that “For us, the biggest highlight was being recognized by our peers as ‘Simplifier of the Year’ for our network. We also had a huge growth in sales this year as well.”

Nichol further commented that he enjoyed having his shop recognized on the cover of Collision Repair magazine, and this issue can be viewed here.

In looking towards the future, Nichol outlined how changing environmental patterns will continue to play a huge part in the collision repair industry for 2025.

“In our area, we are still dealing with the biggest challenge I have ever seen in the form of the biggest hailstorm. We are still seeing vehicles affected by this and I think that this will be our biggest challenge well into 2025.”

Finally, when looking toward future highlights, Nichol concluded that he is most “looking forward to starting the year off strong with lots of repair work already scheduled in. I am also excited for more episodes of Beyond Repair on YouTube,” Nichol joked.

Tune in again on Thursday for another installment of Driving Into 2025.
