Algonquin College Applied Shop Practices

In this course, apprentices demonstrate a working knowledge of learning and communication skills; define the purpose and fundamentals of business and communication techniques; review and explain the fundamentals of basic arithmetic and perform applied calculations for systems of measurement; and demonstrate a working knowledge of personal computer operating systems. Upon successful completion, apprentices are able to define the fundamentals of safe work practices, shop equipment, hand tools and power tools. They also demonstrate a working knowledge of the principles of compressed air delivery, spray booths and spraying equipment.
