Not So Stainless Steel: Tesla Cybertruck owners find vehicles discoloured after removing vinyl wraps

Toronto, Ontario — Owners of Tesla’s stainless steel Cybertruck have begun to report that the trucks are becoming permanently blemished after having their vinyl wraps removed.

Notably, Cybertruck owner, Aaron Cash posted on social media platform X, that after removing the vinyl wrap on his vehicle following an eight-month stint, ghost lettering and other discolouration was left on the vehicle.

While Cash reportedly tried to clean his vehicle with multiple rounds of Windex and Goo Gone, he was unable to completely remove the evidence of the vinyl wrap.

According to online reports, such as those from Torque News, the reason for this discolouration could be the result of chemicals from the vinyl bonding with the stainless steel.
