Regina, Saskatchewan — Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) reported $78 million in net income in its 2023-24 annual report, which was tabled in the Legislative Assembly on July 8, 2024.
From 2023 to 2024, overall claims costs were down, thanks in part to fewer storms throughout the year, leading to fewer catastrophic claims and their related costs, the annual report noted.
The report further outlined $173.1 million in discounts to customers through the Safe Driver Recognition and Business Recognition programs. Additionally, investment earnings came in at $114.8 million.
Alongside income details, the annual report further highlighted that the insurer has amassed $1.096 billion in total claims incurred; $1.078 billion in gross premiums written; and $183.5 million in total investment earnings.
Additionally, the report noted that SGI achieved its highest Customer Experience Index score of 77 out of 100.
