Miami, Florida — CARSTAR’s Restore the Star meeting in Miami this week brought together franchise owners, managers, corporate leaders, and industry partners to discuss key challenges, share insights, and develop strategies to propel the industry forward.
Profitability was key to the two-day agenda which gave the group ample time for sharing and discussion. Also discussed were the increase of EVs on the road and in the shop, collision trends and marketing opportunities.
“Restore the Star is a program we launched at our conference in Victoria, BC this summer,” said Micheal Macaluso, Group President & EVP – Paint, Collision & Glass Business Segment Driven Brands. “Our plan is to accelerate franchisee profitability, sales, and unit growth. The goal is to ensure CARSTAR maintains its position as a leader in the Canadian collision repair industry today and into the future. It’s about putting together a new formula for success and is a combination of re-connecting with our roots over the past 30 years and blending that successful formula with new age thinking and best practices.”
Dave Foster, Sr. VP Operations and Development, was a key event organizer and filled the role of host and facilitator for the discussions. “We are at a moment in time in the collision repair industry in which we need to be unified more than ever with our franchise partners, our vendors and our insurance partners, to ensure successful execution of our programs and be the collision repairer of choice coast to coast,” he said.
According to Macaluso, over the past six months the leadership team worked collaboratively with franchisees to develop a plan to enhance the performance of the Canadian system. “Now is the time to make a bold investment to fast-track the implementation of our plan, seizing the clear opportunity for our iconic brand to Restore the Star and become the premier choice for top-quality collision repair, exceptional customer experiences, and unmatched value for our insurance partners,” he added.
The Restore the Star program consists of an elite group of owners who will meet three times per year. According to Macaluso, “This is a select group of franchisees from coast to coast that want to grow sales, units and margins; all the while, providing the best repair experience to our OE and insurance partners. Bringing this group together in these settings is about removing the blockers of growth and adding enablers of growth to our partners.”
