Rough Running: Toyota conducting safety recall for vehicles with engines that could lose power at high speeds

Toronto, Ontario — Toyota is currently conducting a safety recall of certain 2022 to 2023 Toyota Tundra and 2022 Lexus LX600 vehicles due to the potential for loss of power while driving at higher speeds.

In Canada, approximately 9,665 Toyota and 314 Lexus models are affected.

According to recall information from Toyota, for affected vehicles, “there is a possibility that certain machining debris may not have been cleared from the engine when it was produced.”

Additionally, “in the involved vehicles with higher engine load operations, this can lead to potential engine knocking, engine rough running, engine no start and/or a loss of motive power. A loss of motive power while driving at higher speeds can increase the risk of a crash.”

While the automaker works on fixing the issue, customers with affected vehicles will be notified through mail by late July.
