Automotive Glass Technician Apprenticeship

Automotive Glass Technicians remove, install, repair and generally service all types of stationary and movable glass in motor vehicles and associated equipment.
 
“Automotive vehicles have never been so advanced, and we need to meet the industry’s demand for technicians and that training,” said Danny Marques, an automotive collision repair instructor at Okanagan College.
 
Apprentices are required to attend two weeks of technical training during the two year apprenticeship. Program components include:
  • Safety, care and use of automotive glass tools
  • Vehicle protection 
  • Damage assessment
  • Removal procedures
  • Installation procedures
  • Supplemental restraint system
  • Windshield repair
  • Template preparation
