Winnipeg, Manitoba — Due to an overnight fire that occurred on June 19th, Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) has announced that the Crown corporation’s Gateway Service Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba will be closed until further notice.
In a service announcement, MPI specifically commented that “the location will remain closed for front counter services, including vehicle registration and driver licensing transactions, for the foreseeable future.”
Moreover, estimating appointments scheduled through to Saturday, June 22nd have also been cancelled and will be scheduled at other MPI Service locations.
All customers with upcoming hail estimating appointments scheduled at the Gateway Service Centre will also be contacted to reschedule their appointment at MPI’s Physical Damage Centre.
While the service centre’s closure timeline has not been further outlined, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services responded to the fire at 3:27 a.m. on the 19th and reported the incident as closed at 6:04 a.m.
