TEV Talks: Hyundai Canada hosts ‘Ted Talks’ style videos to debunk common EV myths

Toronto, Ontario — Hyundai Canada has launched “TEV Talks,” a play on Ted Talks information sessions aimed at debunking electric vehicle myths.

Standing for “Total Electric Vehicle,” Hyundai’s “TEV Talks” is a lineup of videos, available on YouTube, discussing the main concerns of those who are curious or new to electric vehicle (EV) ownership.

Each episode answers a different question and covers fundamental topics from battery and charging issues, to how to care for EV batteries and more.

The initial session featured Patrick Lefebvre, Hyundai Canada’s senior product planner; Daniel Breton, president of Electric Mobility Canada; and Patrick Nadeau who drove his Hyundai Ioniq 5 from Quebec to Mexico in 2022.

The session specifically covered the history of electric vehicles and then worked to debunk myths such as the idea that EVs don’t work in the winter; that there aren’t enough charging stations; that EVs are too expensive; and that they aren’t fun to drive.

In a recent press release related to the release of TEV Talks, Hyundai commented that the automaker “firmly believes that the future of our industry lies in electrification.”
