Toronto, Ontario — Driven Brands collision group, consisting of Abra, CARSTAR Canada, CARSTAR U.S. and Fix Auto U.S., have announced a charity milestone of $5 million raised for cystic fibrosis research, care and advocacy.
CARSTAR first began fundraising for cystic fibrosis in Canada over 25 years ago when a franchise partner’s granddaughter was diagnosed with the condition.
Since then, the initiative has spread to the larger collision group where owners and partners have committed to raising funds toward research and care.
The current $5 million milestone was achieved through initiatives such as car washes, golf tournaments, charity walks, and simply providing donations for the cause.
“There are many things that are unique to this network of owners, but their selflessness and willingness to give back is always what comes to mind,” said Dave Foster, Vice President of Network Promotion and Development, CARSTAR Canada. “Every year, the support is amplified, and new creative fundraising initiatives are brought to the network. I am so proud of the dedication that we have seen for over 25 years from our collision group.”
“Our partners play a pivotal role in helping us advance our mission, and we at Cystic Fibrosis Canada are immensely grateful for CARSTAR’s more than 25-year partnership,” said Carly Schur, Chief Development Officer, Cystic Fibrosis Canada. “From car washes to ball hockey and golf tournaments, gala events, silent auctions and more, CARSTAR has been a truly dedicated supporter of Canadians living with cystic fibrosis. This support matters now more than ever, as we continue to drive incredible change for Canadians living with cystic fibrosis.”
CARSTAR Canada is donating $5,000 to Cystic Fibrosis Canada to further celebrate this milestone event.
“As we hit this next milestone in our support of cystic fibrosis, our network is even more committed to continue reaching more,” continued Foster. “Knowing this group, we will hit another milestone soon!”
